Course Description

The travel and tourism industry is a $4 trillion industry and growing. Our Travel Agent Training Program teaches students the skills they need to know to start a career in this exciting and rewarding field.
Over the course of your training, you'll learn about the various facets of the travel industry, including ground transportation, the airline industry, hotels and resorts, cruises, tours, international and domestic travel, the reservations process, ticketing and much more.
Upon completing this program students will be able to:

Audience

Students need access to a computer, Internet access and basic computer skills – ability to use a keyboard, web browser, email, etc.. They should be high school graduates or equivalent with the ability to read and write English.

The intended audience for this program is individuals who are interested in making a career in travel as a travel agent/counselor.

Lisa Wade
Lisa graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1986. She went on to attend The Center for Travel Education, now TravelCampus.

She began her travel career as a Corporate Travel Agent for Murdock Travel Management, responsible for booking and providing information to certain corporate accounts. From there Lisa became a trainer, assessing needs and scheduled, planning and instructing employees in specific needed skills.

In 1998 Lisa became the School Director, enrolling and placing students. She hired, trained and scheduled instructors, collected payments and budgeted monies. As School Director Trainer Lisa compiled and updated a procedures manual, assessed progress of, problem-solved, counseled and advised school directors. Lisa also taught the entire travel course with games, activities and techniques to reinforce concepts.

In more recent years, Lisa has been director of Curriculum Design/Development, coordinating textbooks for use in proprietary travel schools, designed and developed Education Systems textbooks into online format for TravelCampus. She has been instrumental in developing online courses for travel and tourism companies and headed all instruction for TravelCampus, ASTA and IATA online courses.

Requirements

Students need to have access to the internet and a PC or virtual PC for automation courses. All required materials are available online.  Textbooks are available for purchase which parallel course content, if desired, but are not required.
