Clinical Medical Administrator (WE-HF-232)


Course Description

Clinical Medical Administrators manage staff, handle finances, and ensure regulatory compliance for healthcare facilities. This is a vital role, a position at the center of hospitals, clinics, and doctor’s offices. The average clinical administrator at the entry level, sometimes called an administrator assistant, has a median salary of $42,000 per year. Clinical administrators with experience who have advanced to management positions have an average salary of $95,000 per year. This field is expanding rapidly with a 17% per year growth, showing a high demand for professionals in this field.

What’s in this program? This program prepares you for the entry level position as a clinical administrator. You’ll learn the interpersonal and clinical skills necessary in the Medical Administrative Assistant section. Then the program will cover in detail the skills needed to handle the “paperwork” part of administration, training you in the skills of an Electronic Health Records Specialist. Lastly this program will go through all the Medical and Billing codes for ICD-9 and ICD-10 giving you an introduction to the knowledge and skills of a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist.
Included Certifications! Included in the program tuition are the preparation material and exam vouchers for the National Healthcareer Association’s (NHA) Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) Certification exam, Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) Certification exam, and Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS) Certification exam.
NOTE: the specialized software provided for this program does not yet work on a Mac.

This program is supported by an expert educational mentor, Patrice Arevalo. Patrice has a degree in medical assisting from The Career College of Northern Nevada as well as a degree in dental assisting from the Community College of the Air Force. She is available to provide guidance and motivation for learners throughout the duration of this program. As an expert mentor, she will provide answers to learner questions, monitor learner's program progression, and review lesson and program quiz/test results.
